Secondary School Curling 

Secondary School tournaments are run in conjunction with School Sport New Zealand and in accordance with their guidelines. There are annual tournaments at North Island, South Island and New Zealand levels.

NZCA run Training Camps for Secondary School Students, and each facility runs 'Have a Go' sessions where you can learn how to curl.

North Island Secondary Schools Competition

  • Auckland, Monday 25th - Thursday 28th August 2025
  • Entry closing date:  Friday 1st August.

South Island Secondary Schools Competition

  • Dunedin, Friday 5th - Sunday 7th September 2025
  • Entry closing date:  Monday 11th August

New Zealand Secondary Schools Competition

  • Naseby, Saturday 20th - Monday 22nd September 2025
  • Entry closing date:  Friday 5th September


NZCA Training Camps

NZ Curling Association hosts Training Camps as part of our Development Programme.  We host a two-day training camp in the July holidays for beginner and intermediate curlers and those interested in selection for the NZ Junior Teams.  

There is a two-day compulsory camp for our NZ Junior Representative teams in September.

  • Tuesday 8th July - Wednesday 9th July:  All abilities welcome
  • Thursday 10th July - Friday 11th July: Extended Development Camp, which will consist of games against other teams.

Local Secondary School Competitions

Alexandra, Auckland, and Dunedin run local school leagues, training, and 'Have a Go' sessions. See below for more details.  Maniototo Secondary School students enter the MCI Contractors Cup as a weekly league.
