18 Feb 2016 – This year's Auckland Curling season will get under way a month earlier than in 2015. The club will take advantage of an early Easter to start on the Sunday evenings of 3 and 10 April for new curlers to come along and "have a go", and to welcome back returning players.
A social mini-spiel for all curlers will run on 17 April, and the club league is scheduled to start on 1 May.
Before that though on 20 March is the club's AGM and an open forum, starting at 10:30am at Sport Auckland. More details are in Auckland Curling's February newsletter.
24 Oct 2015 – The Stonehenge side of Garion Long, Ben Frew, Kieran Grieve and Matt Hohaia won Auckland Curling's Premier League final last weekend.
They beat the House Crashers team of Kenny Williamson and Anthony Derrick, with spares Emily Whelan and Claire Suen filling in for regulars Allan Barclay and Logan Barclay.
The final went to an extra end when House Crashers stole 3 in the eighth end to level the scores at 10-10, but Stonehenge won the deciding end for their second trophy of the season. The side had won the round robin trophy two weeks earlier.
16 Oct 2015 – It's all on this Sunday 18th October!
Auckland Curling's October newsletter has details of the clubs 2015 Grand Finals.
The League Championship (A-D Divisions), Mixed Doubles Championship and Under-21 Championship will all be decided at Paradice Avondale from 5:00pm.
If you're not playing then we invite you to come along and see Auckland's best curlers in action.
9 Sep 2015 – ONE News Breakfast caught up with the teams on the ice at the North Island Secondary Schools Curling Championship last week.
7 Sep 2015 – Auckland Curling's Sepember newsletter has good news on our ice!
Paradice staff have worked out and resolved the problems, so we have 5 sheets available to us again. So our Auckland Under-21 Championship (entries close this Friday 11th with first games on Sunday) and Auckland Mixed Doubles are back on the schedule.
The newsletter also explains our new Sunday duty teams, and looks at the international debut of NZ's newest Mixed Doubles team.
18 Aug 2015 – Auckland Curling's August newsletter covers the recent discussion with Paradice to try and get some resolution to the ongpong problem of uneven ice on the outer two sheets. Despite the best efforts of Paradice staff they had reached the stage of being virtually unplayable on some nights.
We are cautiously optimistic of some improvement, and will confirm the draw for this Sunday (23rd) after the schools session on Thursday evening.
The newsletter also looks forward to the international events for NZ teams over the next few months, starting next week with the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ.

19 Jun 2015 – Our June newsletter has the low-down on the our new curling season. Now that we know precisely how many teams we have we can confirm that we will have a two-pool format for the first half of the season.
We can confirm game fees for spares, offer our congratulations to the winners of the NZ Mixed Fours Championship held over Queen's Birthday Weekend, and we can point you towards plenty of online resources for both new AND experienced curlers.
15 May 2015 – Auckland Curling's season will open with a social mini-bonspiel this Sunday 17th May. This will comprise short 3-end games throughout the evening.
Most teams will be "mix and match" drawn from a hat – but if new curlers have already formed a team and want to play together then that's fine too! Please bring nibbles to share. Not everyone will be playing at once so there will be plenty of time to socialise.
And if you want to play this season – every week, most weeks or occasionally – then now is the time to sign up and let us know.
