6 Sep 2018 – Epsom Girls Grammar Knock Out struck form at the business end of the tournament to win their North Island Secondary Schools Championship at Paradice Avondale this week.

In round robin play the side finished fourth of the five teams to claim the last semifinal berth.

But Jasman Vir Kaur, Katrina Shepard, Sava Youssef and Shreya Nair peaked at the right time to beat their schoolmates EGGS Squad Curl Out 5-2 in their semi, and then claim the gold medal 9-3 over Long Bay Silver in the final.

LBC Silver earned their place in the final in another local derby, heading LBC Teal 4-2 in their semi.

Teal went on to beat EGGS Curl Out 11-6 in a high-scoring bronze medal match.

The Boy's final was a best-of-three final series between Long Bay College Black and Lynfield College Grey.

The teams shared the honours in their first two matches, but it was the Long Bay side of Luke Katavich, Harrison Burns, Kyle Sowery, Sam Roe and Yannick Lange who won the decider 10-2.

Lynfield Red (Rachel Barrowman, Giordi Gambassi, Nene Matsuki, Harsh Sharma and Simran Patel) were unchallenged in the Mixed division. They played the Boys' teams for some game time through the tournament.
