Tournament Format

  • Welcome and Team meeting will be held at 2.30 pm on Friday 9th September for all teams playing in the first round. A team meeting will be held at 6.15 pm for Teams Darcy Nevill and Rachael Pitts.
  • Games will be played under WCF rules.
  • No team may practice on the ice later than 12 pm on Friday, 9th September, to allow for ice preparation.
  • Teams are to be punctual and to be stretched and ready to go on the ice at the time stated on the draw.
  • First practice will commence at the start time stated on the draw.
  • First-named teams have first practice and play with dark handles (red).
  • Each team will have a 6-minute pre-game practice, followed by LSDs.
  • Each team is to deliver two draw shots, the first counter clockwise and the second clockwise. The draw shot is to be shared amongst all players.
  • The LSDs will decide which team has hammer on the first end.
  • All games are eight ends in length, with a minimum of six ends to be played. Extra end(s) will be played if scores are tied after the eighth end.
  • There will be a four-minute break after the fourth end.
  • At the completion of the round-robin, teams will be ranked for the playoffs with WCF ranking procedure (C9) being used to separate teams on the same win-loss record.
  • Playoffs – The top four sides of each gender will qualify for semi-finals. The 1st ranked team plays the 4th ranked team, and the 2nd ranked team will play the 3rd ranked team. Winners of these games will play off for Gold and Silver Medals, and runners-up will play for the Bronze Medal.
