MCI Training Camp

16 May 2017 – The New Zealand Curling Association has confirmed dates for this year's Junior Training Camp at the MCI rink in Naseby.

The camp will run on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 July.

This is the week between the NZ Open Championships in Dunedin (6-9 July) and the NZ Under-21 Championships in Naseby (14-16 July). Curlers competing in the NZ Under-21 Championships are strongly encouraged to attend.

The NZ Curling Association has agreed to meet the cost of ice hire for the camp and to contribute $200 towards travel costs for those travelling from the North Island.

Accommodation and Transport

Travel, accommodation and meals must be arranged by the camp participants.

  • Accommodation – click for options from Naseby Information Centre website
  • Transport – there is no public transport to Naseby or within Naseby. Naseby is about 140 km from Dunedin, a little further from Queenstown. Potentially, participants could arrange to share transport and costs (e.g. a minivan from Dunedin). If you would like your contact details to be shared with other participants for this purpose then please indicate this in the comments section on your application. We are unable to share your details unless you agree to do so, and we cannot guarantee that any arrangement will result.
  • The curling rink is about 0.5 to 1.5km from most accommodation options within Naseby - see Google Maps.
